Tell us about your family…spouse, kids, pets?
My husband, Brian, and I have been married for 13 years. Our daughter, Olivia, is 5 (going on 15!) and our second baby is due in October! Oh and we have a backyard full of chickens.
What is your title or role at HBC?
Co-Deacon of Children’s Ministry
Give a brief description of what you are responsible for…
Behind the scenes, my responsibilities as deacon involve weekly scheduling of volunteers, ordering and organizing curriculum/materials and planning/facilitating any special programs for Christmas and Easter. On Sunday morning, you can find my counter, Alyssa, and me teaching in a classroom or upstairs listening to the sermon. Come say hi!
What do you love most about what you do at HBC?
I love being able to encourage adults to enjoy teaching our children! It’s so sweet to see volunteers of all ages teaching children The Gospel! The BEST part though… watching these sweet children learn about Jesus! The connections with their church buddies, the conversations and questions are priceless.
What is your favorite Bible verse, and why?
Philippines 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”
I am so encouraged by these verses because they explicitly tell me to not be anxious about anything while anchoring me back to Christ through prayer. It’s so simple and such a great reminder, daily!

5 years.
What 3 things do you do for fun outside of HBC?
I LOVE to be outside. We participate in the 1000 hours outside challenge each year! I really enjoy cooking… yes, I am a sourdough nerd! And I love to read! There’s always a stack of books on my bedside table. I just recently finished a book in 2 days and quite literally could not put it down.
