Tell us about your family…spouse, kids, pets?
Rhoda and I have been married for over 26 years! She is a gift from the Lord and a Proverbs 31 woman through and through. We do not have kids but enjoy helping others in a familial fashion as much as possible!
What is your title or role at HBC?
I serve in the Musical Worship minitry at HBC, and help oversee the scheduling, coordination and execution of the musical portion of our Sunday morning services.
Give a brief description of what you are responsible for…
The Lord has put music into our hearts since childhood, so being able to serve the Kingdom in this sense is very fulfilling. I am chiefly responsible for organizing the efforts around the worship ministry at HBC. Rhoda and I became members way back in 2018, and have been involved in the music ministry to some degree ever since! It is always a humbling experience to get up on a stage and speak/play/sing, but to have the opportunity to do that for the Lord while worshiping with our HBC family is truly a rewarding experience!
What do you love most about what you do at HBC?
The HBC family have been blessings to us in counteless ways, working and serving alongside fellow Highlanders is so rewarding. The utmost reward, however, is the opportunity to use the gifting the Lord has given us to serve Him and His people!
What is your favorite Bible verse, and why?
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (ESV): “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” This is my go-to “anchor” verse when I need “marching orders”! I ruminate on this verse pretty regularly.
How long have you been attending HBC?
Rhoda and I have been attending HBC since 2018!
What 3 things do you do for fun outside of HBC?
1. Music (recording, playing, etc.)! 2. PC Games (especially “old guy” flight simulators)! 3. Cheesy 80’s action movies (sorry, everyone)! 4. Not filling out online forms like this one!!
