Highlands Transition Update

I’ve recently been reading through Acts again during my yearly Bible reading plan and came across this passage – “But the word of God increased and multiplied.” [Acts 12:24, ESV] I can recall Pastor Ryan preaching through the book of Acts at the Green Pond campus several years back.  One thing was clear – God’s word was advancing and the church was growing!  This still happens today – we have seen it first hand at Highlands and it remains to be an exciting blessing we are privileged to be part of.  As people hear the Word of God, lives are changed and the church has grown, in both health and numbers.  With that in mind, here is an update on the Highlands Transition Team [HTT].

The last few weeks have been very busy for the HTT.  In early April, we finalized our official recommendation for Highlands to be planted as an independent church and sent it to the Elders.

Next, we drafted our by-laws and sent them to our attorney for a quick review and then on to the Elders.  We have also worked on a few drafts of a budget for Highlands which is looking very encouraging! The Elders have had several weeks now to review, discuss, and pray through these items.  At the May Elder meeting, we will vote to affirm the recommendation and by-laws.

What comes next?  In the near future, we will distribute a one page summary of the plan and the HBC by-laws to the membership for review in preparation for the June 3 member meeting where we will be voting to affirm moving ahead with the plan for Highlands.

Please prayerfully review these documents in preparation for the June 3 Member Meeting.  If you have any questions, please reach out before the meeting to Pastor Mike.

Thank you for your prayers and all of your help over the years with the Highlands Campus, please continue to pray as we transition to become the Highlands Bible Church!  May the Word of God continue to increase and multiply!
