Questions…and Answers?

Starting a church generates a lot of questions.  #LOTS.  That’s good.  The two most frequently asked questions are (1) Where are you meeting?  and (2) When will you start.  [Just for the record: 1) Cedar Mountain School and (2) Easter 2016 – March 27th] Lots of questions mean that people are thinking about things and hopefully considering joining the mission and becoming part of the team.

I have a question of my IMG_3402own that I’ve been asking folks – how about you and Highlands Bible Church – is God calling you to join the mission?

The best way to see if this may be the case is to attend a Highlands Team meeting.  In between now and next year, we are meeting.  We meet together in home in Vernon and we’d invite anyone considering joining the mission to come check us out. You might just see that we are as weird as you heard…or perhaps weirder.

The Highlands Team meets regularly at 7pm on the 2nd and 4th Friday of the month – so we will be meeting this Friday, September 25th! We have a time of fellowship (read: coffee drinking), singing together, and for the last several weeks, we have been studying the “One Anothers” of Scripture.  Did you know there are almost 40 of them in the Bible?  You know…”Love one another” (1 Thes 3:12); “Instruct one another” (Rom 15:14); “Care for one another” (1 Cor 12:25); “Stir one another up” (Heb 10:24) and many more!  We are studying these to grow in unity and love for each other and for God’s love to be displayed in us as we seek to minister the gospel to unbelievers in the community.

After our time in the Word, we then spend some time in prayer – focused prayer about the Highlands Campus.  Why?  Prayer is required.  As E.M. Bounds wrote “…prayer puts wings on the gospel and power into it. By prayer it moves forward with conquering force and rapid advance.” We pray for the following and would love for you to pray along with us:

  • For God to draw people to himself in Vernon.
  • For him to use the Highlands Campus to proclaim the gospel and give the hope in Jesus.
  • For the funding to come in.
  • For the Worship Pastor Search team.
  • For opportunities now to share Christ and spread the news of Highlands Bible Church.
  • For wisdom in how to best create the Ministry Teams.
  • For additional committed members of the Highlands Team.
